Modern Technology And
The Current Generation
When the world saw a major change in the turn of the 21st century,the world saw something that would revolutionize everyone’s lives.Yes,my folks…this is Modern Technology! The world full of wireless communication,hi-tech instruments and highly advanced tools to make it a life-changing experience. The world is accessible in the touch of a button,the universe is explorable in the eyes of people,the future sees dyes of unimaginable sophistication & last of all, our present generation is being vastly affected by today’s so called “Modern Technology”
Whenever I sit in front of my laptop or just sleep with the iPod in my ears, my Mom will always “distract” me with her stories of what she did when she was young….and then I would return to my work…WAIT!!!! Did I say “stories”?….Let’s see what sorts of stories…
…Back in my days we use to play more and read more books….
…No way did we sit at home…cause there wasn’t even a television to look at…
These “stories” are actually true.In the mid-19th century to the end of it,we find that our parents or the people who schooled in that time were more “OUT” rather than “IN”.Since televisions and computers were not quite widespread at that part of time,reading and playing is more like our time on the net or in front of the television.
So where are we (this generation) actually headed off to…Let’s talk in terms of obeisity,lack of real character,no hands-eye to today’s world,etc.Life in a way…won’t be the way we lived it before.I really appreciate the movie Wall-E, though its just an animated film, if you try and understand what’s going on, it potrays the future if we are not ready to change today. So focussed on the line of technology where we forget to look at our ownselves being carried around the world on a chair…our whole life.
On the other hand,I really appreciate the efforts modern technology has also taken to prevent obeisity and many other “diseases” that can affect the world. Sony Playstation’s Eye Toy’s Fitness and the amazing Wii-fit.
So what can we really say? Where is this world heading to? With so many advancements and improvements happening every single day! Robots are soon going to replace a lot of man’s mechanical effort and travelling around the world would be the same as walking over to our neighbour’s house.
Science is developing at a fast rate,the world is developing at a faster rate,but what is going to be the end result…
The biggest mistake people make in life is not trying to make a living at doing what they most enjoy.
My parents are computer illiterate, and you could say they are reluctant to hop on this new wave of modern technology. As you stated, they see a day where we will all have chips in our arms. When we go to grocery store instead of cashiers and checkout lines all we will have to do is wave to a machine. They shared these thoughts years ago and today they have already created this type of technology. People in the United States already have willingly accepted these chips. Let it be known that this is a VERY BAD idea. However, not necessarily with our bank accounts programmed into them, yet. My parents don’t like where our world is going because, plain and simple, it is diminishing human interaction and will continue to. Also, electronics can easily malfunction. If a significant portion of our lives, and this world, depend on electronics and this were to happen we’d have a BIG problem. I have many other thoughts of the topic and will elaborate later, but I have to jet. Very interesting post. You can research the chips on the internet and I urge you guys to do so.
